FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What service do you provide?
We provide counselling services to individuals, couples, families, youth, and children. We work with those who a have experienced trauma, loss, abuse, separation & divorce. We also work with those of all ages who are experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, conflict & relationship difficulties. We work with parents and children to support positive day to day interactions & improved parent/child relationships.
We have a social justice lens and support those who have experienced injustices,
discrimination or racism based on their race, gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation.
Will my contact with you be private?
Any contact with us is completely confidential. No information is shared with any other
source without your explicit written consent.
Do you accept coverage from insurance companies?
As there is considerable variation on how counselling services are covered in extended
health benefits, we encourage each client to contact their benefit provider to determine
the type of service covered and the counsellor designation coverage unique to them.
I.e. registered Clinical Counsellor, Registered Psychologist, Social Worker.
Catharine provides services under the Crime Victims Assistance Program (CVAP) and
First Nations Health Authority (FNHA).
How do you provide your services?
Catharine and Lindsay offer sessions in person, over the phone, or using video conferencing (Zoom). The choice of session format is made with you through
collaboration. These decisions will also include COVID-19 best safety practices.
What Covid-19 precautions do you take?
We follow the recommended guidelines outlined by the BC Provincial Health Officer,
Dr. Bonnie Henry, the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors & WorkSafe BC for
In-Office/In-Person sessions. Currently, we require clients to be fully vaccinated and wear a mask for all In-Office sessions. Telehealth sessions are available for clients not yet fully vaccinated.
As additional safety precautions, we will ask you specific health
questions prior to entering the office, and will provide you with hand sanitizer upon
entering. We continually assess the safety of these sessions and will update our
protocols as changes evolve.
What are your counselling fees?
Our fees are based on the recommendation of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. You may view their fee schedule at bc-counselling.org and click the heading entitled ‘Find a Counsellor’. We are pleased to discuss fees with you when you contact us.

Ethics are the cornerstone of our personal integrity and professional practice. We
recognize the importance of a trusting counselling relationship and of our responsibility
to practice within the scope of our professional knowledge and competencies.
As members of professional counselling associations, we abide by the Code of Ethics and Standards of Clinical Practice of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA).
